Indonesian food is known world over for freshness of its flavours and lightness of its constitution. While we may identify only with Nasi Goreng and Satay sticks, the rich cuisine has much more to offer.

Indonesian food is not only known world over but also loved by many for its fresh ingredients and strong herbal flavours. Authentic Indonesian food however is a revelation – it is nothing like what you find in restaurants around the world. Light, flavourful and based on fresh ingredients, the food is easy to digest and full of goodness, although some may find it too watery or bland for taste.

The Indonesian cuisine also varies significantly by region and has diverse influences based on the part of the country or the island they come from. Sumatran food, for example, often has Middle Eastern and Indian influences and Javanese food is mostly regional with some bit of Chinese influence. Malay, Burmese and Polynesian are some other cuisines Indonesian food borrows heavily from.
